POSITION: Manager, Nutrition Services (Full Time)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Nutrition Services is accountable for the overall management of the dietary department and the delivery of an enjoyable dining experience for 66 residents residing at Bennett Village. Through effective management of allocated resources and development of a strong team, the manager will ensure the delivery of optimal care and service, based on legislative requirements and home standards.
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
DATE REQUIRED: January 5, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess certification as Food Service Supervisor/Nutrition Manager from a recognized governing body
- Must possess current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
- Demonstrated experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing
- Must be knowledgeable of nutritional needs of the residents in a LTC home;
- Demonstrated expertise in catering for LTC environment
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Food Safety Code of Practice and Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating, relevant sections of the Fixing Long Term Care Act and regulations 2021, ORCA and OH&S Act
- Computer skills including Excel/Word/Outlook
- Knowledge of Point Click Care, an asset
Experience:
- At least five (5) years of experience working as a food service manager in the long-term care sector
Abilities:
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Labour Relations experience a definite asset.
- Advanced computer skills for report writing, data analysis, and financial budgeting (accounting) skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing and emerging care practices is also required.

Part time Registered Practical Nurses
ROLE:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Registered Nurse and in accordance with the
regulations of the Health Disciplines Act, The Registered Practice Nurse shall plan, delegate,
and supervise care given by non-registered nursing personnel within his/her assigned unit in
accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures and promotes the provision of resident centeredness and personal care services are
available to meet the needs of the resident as follows:
a) Supports and helps provide a Resident Advocacy Program though the promotion and respect
of the Bill of Rights.
b) Promotes the philosophy and practices of resident centeredness and humanizing in all
residents’ encounters and decisions.
c) Promotes the Resident’s Bill of Rights.
d) Respects and uses sensitivity in spiritual, cultural and ethnic aspects of a resident’s life.
e) Supports residents in achieving quality experiences – personal and social.
f) Seeks opportunities for resident participation in decisions that affect the resident’s rights and
lifestyle.

nursing department and the institution.
d) Participates in the Home programs (e.g.) Occupational Health and Safety Program, Quality
Improvement, Fire Safety, WHMIS.
3. Provides for quality Human Resources as follows:
a) Promotes a cooperative working environment.
b) Facilitates team building and promotes change and innovative ideas.
c) Establishes and maintains good human relations with professional and non-professional staff,
residents, families, volunteers, and the community.
d) Assesses the nursing needs of individuals, families and groups, the development of nursing
histories, resident care plans and team conferences.
e) Provides input into the development of orientation, in-service and continuing education plans
for nursing personnel.
f) Functions in accordance with Guidelines for Ethical Behavior in Nursing.

g) Seeks out opportunities to maintain competency and to continuously learn, taking an active
role in continuous quality improvement.

Part Time Recreation & Behavioural Support Aide
Part Time Recreation & Behavioural Support Aide Permanent Part Time Evenings timings: 1200 – 2000

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and evaluate recreation and leisure activities tailored to individual residents’ needs, interests, and abilities, with a focus on those with dementia and responsive behaviours.
- Identify triggers and support the development of personalized behavioural and recreation care plans.
- Facilitate meaningful programs that promote emotional well-being, social connection, and cognitive stimulation.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a monthly activity calendar that promotes consistent resident engagement.
- Provide “in the moment” coaching and hands-on support to staff to effectively engage residents during episodes of responsive behaviour.
- Encourage and model person-centered care, integrating families and residents into the planning and direction of recreational activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or related field;
or qualifications as outlined under Ontario Regulation 79/10 67(1,2,3). - Additional training or certification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA), U-First!, PIECES, Montessori Methods, or Dementia Ability considered an asset.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience working with older adults in a long-term care or similar setting, specifically those with: Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, responsive behaviours, and person-centered engagement techniques.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Basic computer literacy: experience with electronic documentation systems such as Point Click Care is an asset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
